What’s The Best Fishing Knot? | Bass Fishing

I've been using fluorocarbon since it got popular, before it got popular. I was one of probably the first guys who used it in the US. I forget how long ago it was, over ten years ago.

I tied Palomars back then, and they used to pop it off a lot. I had some Japanese friends on tour and stuff, in Kota, and some of the guys that fish, they know a lot of technical stuff, and probably from Japan. And to make a long story short, I get a lot of Japanese catalogs and magazines, and there's a lot guys back east that still use the Palomar.

VanDam's one of them. He's one of the biggest guys that still use the Palomar on fluorocarbon. Four or five times I've taken his baits and snapped them off just to show him, throughout the year, since I know him well.

I would take his crankbait and just pop it. And then I'll tie my knot on. And it's heavy line, you feel it, it's like 16 or something, and I'll just pop it off.

And I'll tie mine on and actually kind of do the same thing and it doesn't break, and I'll do it four or five times, and then I'll give it to him. And he still does it, he still does the Palomar. I've never seen a Palomar knot in a Japanese brochure or magazine ever. They don't even talk about it. They have all these knots.

They'll have a whole page of knots, like, eight, ten different knots, how to do them. Even two pages, I've never seen them illustrate a Palomar. That's how against it they are. But, you're losing 10 percent to 20 percent of knot strength, and I can show you guys. I'll be here as long as you guy want, I don't have to fly out till tomorrow.

How to Cook a Sushi Dinner Party

Welcome back to another sushi video recipe, I am Chef Devaux and today I am going to show you how to make a sushi dinner platter. Now this was requested by a loyal viewer in the comments section of my prior videos. Basically what I am going to tell is do less, now what do I mean by less? I mean when a beginner tries to make sushi for many people what they do is try to over reach, they go and make 20 different sushi rolls, and they have 20 different ingredients to decide from. You go and make one with tuna, one with salmon, one with yellow-tail, one with octopus, one with crab, one with all sorts of stuff.

They go to the fish market and they are grabbing everything they can, just chuck it into all the sushi rolls. And then what you have is so much waste, and it takes so much time to stop and start, trying to make different types of sushi rolls. In a restaurant that’s fine because you make all the prep and you’re going to make six, seven, eight each and then that’s not a problem. But when you’re at home and you’re making one of each that’s when you waste so much. What you want to do is you want to make one amazing sushi roll, like the mosaic sushi roll, the flower sushi roll, the crispy deep fried sushi roll or many other of my sushi rolls that are amazing, and then you want to make one simple one and you want to top it with different types of things.

So it looks like you made 20 different sushi rolls but you only made two really. Much like when you make a cupcake and make the base and then you put different icing on the top, you do the same thing with this. Let’s go see how this is done. Simple Sushi Roll Here what I am going to make is a very simple salmon, cucumber, sushi roll using 120g of cooked sushi rice, which is about 4oz, and some water to wet your hands so that the rice doesn’t stick to your hands.

9 Best River Cruises In The World

In this video you're going to discover the nine best places to go on a river cruise. I'm Gary Bembridge of Tips For Travellers. River cruising is a great way to travel and you travel in small ships, largely everything's included, including drinks food and excursions – and it's a fabulous relaxed way of seeing parts of the world. I'm going to talk about the nine best places to go.

First of all the Rhine. This is the most popular river cruising destination in the world. The river is a 900 mile long river. It starts in Switzerland and eventually empties into the North Sea and passes through six countries: Austria, France, Germany, Liechtenstein, the Netherlands and Switzerland. The reason the Rhine is so popular is it is just steeped in beautiful scenery and phenomenal history.

As you pass along the Rhine you pass fairytale castles, beautiful vineyards. A big part of the Rhine, which you pass through on a river cruise, is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and it's called the Upper Middle Rhine Valley. It's a beautiful part of the world and it's basically between Rudesheim and Koblentz, and you pass magnificent castles, beautiful scenery.

The Rhine is a great place to go on a river cruise and there's a huge amount of choice. Now the second incredible River to go cruising on is the Danube. The Danube is a very long river.

It's over 1,800 miles long and is the second longest river in Europe after the Volga. It passes through an incredible eight countries. It starts in Germany and ends in the Black Sea and it passes through Germany, Austria, Slovakia, Hungary, Croatia, Serbia, Bulgaria, Romania, Moldavia and finally the Ukraine.

Bass Fishing Battle | Dude Perfect

This is big, folks. Dude, I think it's a pretty good one. It's pulling my boat. Woo hoo! Oh, it's a big fish!

Oh, it's a big fish! We're Dude Perfect. Welcome to Bass Fishing Battle.

Woo! Dude Perfect. For round 1, each dude will have six best spinning reels under 100. Once you catch a fish, you move onto the next pole. The fastest two times move on to the finale.

What's up, guys? Ty and Gare. Welcome to Bass Fishing Battle. We are in boat 1. Good luck to you, Gar. We're not necessarily on a team.

But we are in the same boat together. The other guys have dubbed this "the struggle boat." We take great offense to that. Extreme offense.

We are so offended. I'm on my own because I drew the short straw. But, honestly, I'm going to look at that as a positive. Coby, my butler, is going to be driving the boat today. I've never driven a bass boat.

But the thought of Cory driving this boat is the only thing worse than me having to worry about it. Clouds coming out anytime soon today? No, you need some sunscreen?

Probably. Folks, I've got a little bit of a history of fishing. I'm looking for a championship. Start our timer when the first bait hits the water.

Start the timer in 3, 2, 1. It's a beautiful day for fishing, boys. Oh, there we go. Oh, it's not a bad fish right there. Ah, OK. There we go.

Not a big one, but fish on the board. Moving on to the Kid Caster. Oh, wow, this feels weird.

This is big, folks. I just gotta get him in the boat. I'm a fish kisser. It's a must.

Dude Perfect, Kid Caster, one of my personal faves. Oh, that can fly. Oh, oh, Gary's got himself a fish.

How To Fix Spider Cracks, Hairline Cracks, and Crazing in Boat Gelcoat | BoatUS

Hi Mark Corke here from BoatUS Magazine. Today I'm going to show you how to repair spider cracking in gelcoat. Before I start, don't forget if you find this video useful give us a like below, add a comment, and don't forget to subscribe to our YouTube channel. Before we start doing any repairs, I've got to make sure that the boat's nice and clean. I've already washed it down but my next step is just to give it a good wipe down with some acetone just to remove any remaining contaminants.

So before I do any work to the actual gelcoat itself, I'm going to mask it off so that we don't get splashes and things on the rest of the boat. [UPBEAT MUSIC] Just painting on some gelcoat is rarely effective so what I'm going to do is I'm going to open up the cracks with my Dremel tool and that will give the gelcoat something to bite into and also give us a much better repair. [GRINDING] I've finished the grinding, and if you look carefully you can just see that I've gone down through the gelcoat and barely scraped the laminate underneath. That's because we don't want to make huge gouges we just want a very shallow ones just for the gelcoat to have something to bite into I get a lot of questions about gelcoat and you'll notice that this is Spectrum Color. This is just one manufacturer that makes gelcoat.

They come in loads and loads and loads of different colors. This is obviously Grand Banks white because I'm working on a Grand Banks, but whatever boat you have they can probably match it up to suit. Because this is a huge gallon can of gelcoat, I find the easiest way to decant it is to use a syringe, so I'm going to suck up a syringe full of gelcoat and then I'm going to squirt this into a paper cup. One thing that many people do is they mix up way more gelcoat than they actually need. You'll see how much I've got in here.
